2009: Wilson Lake Country Club.
In early 2009, yet another call of distress reached us--this time, it was the Wilson Lake Country Club in Wilton, Maine--once referred to by golf legend Patty Berg as "the Best Nine in Maine"--found itself in danger of disappearing altogether if it couldn't find a new owner. Funded directly by the proceeds of our very first Preservation Pass sale in April of that year, the Club was acquired, placed under a permanent conservation easement-- and today, a healthy and vibrant Wilson Lake continues to host generations of golfers next to the shores of its namesake.
